1.0 Teacher Managed Behaviours: Definitions for Minor Behaviour Report

These behaviours are to be managed in class by the teacher. In cases where the teacher is unable to manage these behaviours they can seek support from the principal, SC and SSP. Teachers may also have their own expectations for their classroom. The following behaviours are to be implemented by the entire school.

Refusing to workA student who does not attempt to do the work assigned by their teacher or staff member.
Distracting othersA student who is creating a distraction which is preventing other students from learning and/or staff from teaching.
Shouting or YellingSpeaking in an unnecessarily loud volume.
Innapropriate languageA student who speaks in an offensive manner toward a staff member, another student or to oneself.
BullyingStudent delivers a disrespectful message∗ (through words or gestures) to another person, including threats, intimidation, obscene gestures, pictures, photos, or written notes, to exclude others. This includes disrespectful messages made online.
DisrespectA student who is acting inappropriately to the school, materials, themselves, or others.
In the hallwayA student who is in the hallway when they are supposed to be in class.
Knocking on doorsA student who is knocking on the door inappropriately.
In the wrong classStudents who are in a class that they are not supposed to be in without permission.
Leaving a mess in the hallwayStudents who leave a mess in the hallway and don’t pick up after themselves.
