Purpose of Code of Conduct

The purpose of the Tukisiniarvik School Code of Conduct is to provide students, teachers and staff with clear expectations, limits and structure to follow during school hours. Providing the students, teachers and staff with clear expectations will help to improve the safety of our school. Children need clear concise expectations, limits and boundaries for healthy development.

The safety of our students and staff is very important at Tukisiniarvik School. For many children, the school is an important place for meeting their needs of safety, hunger, nurturing, emotional development and learning. We want to provide our students with a safe nurturing environment. This protocol is not intended to punish students who misbehave. It is intended to provide safety and support to those who need it. Students will be supported unconditionally even if they are removed from the classroom or school.

When implementing the behaviour protocol, it is important to keep a compassionate lens for our students. By following the protocol below, we can begin to understand our students’ needs and help meet them while keeping everyone as safe as possible.
